In response to the attack on GeneSimmons.com, which took the site offline intermittently, Gene Simmons now has a message for the “hackers” responsible. “We will soon be printing their names and pictures. We will find you. You cannot hide.” Apparently, Simmons fails to realize the power of Anonymous. This isn’t going to be pretty.

The 4chan vigilantes are at it again, this time in defense of WikiLeaks. Anonymous has retaliated against several sites which have denied service to WikiLeaks shortly after the site started leaking secret embassy cables. So far they’ve hit the site of Swiss Bank, PostFinance which had closed the account of WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. Also affected were PayPal and Mastercard. Who’s next?

Anonymous Divided Over MasterCard Takedown

After refusing to process Wikileaks donations, Mastercard’s website has been forcibly removed by infamous ad-hoc hacker group Anonymous. Now, another faction of Anonymous are denouncing the attacks, targeting anyone who would support Wikileaks. This is what happens when anyone can claim to represent Anonymous.

Alex Tapanaris

Alex Tapanaris is the name of an Anonymous hacker who is neither anonymous nor, apparently, a hacker - on account of he accidentally left his name in the metadata of a press release related to the whole Wikileaks infowar.

Canv.as Sneak Peek

Last night I received an invite to try out Canv.as, the highly anticipated project from 4chan founder Chris “moot” Poole. It’s not the new 4chan, and it’s not supposed to be.

One of the first things I did after signing up was repost that picture of the turtle and pirate from those Art Instruction Schools TV commercials that have haunted me in my dreams since about the age of 7. Without much effort on my part, the other users of the site with Beta invites churned out their own takes on the "enjoyable art test."

  4. Remixing!

Underneath every image is the "Make a remix" button, providing the user with some basic photo manipulation tools for painting, filling, and adding text. But one of the more interesting tools is the magic stamp. If you remember Kid Pix then the stamp should light a little nostalgia fire in the back of your head.

  5. Stickers!

Images can be given reaction stickers by other users, a lot like the badges we use here at BuzzFeed. I'm not sure what cookies signify yet, but I like where it's going.

  6. The Future!

For now, Canv.as only supports images (including animated gifs!) but in the future it is expected to support video as well, meaning that this video would have been totally appropriate.
